Thanks for this quiz from Julie:

You're Catch-22!

by Joseph Heller

Incredibly witty and funny, you have a taste for irony in all that you
see. It seems that life has put you in perpetually untenable situations, and your sense
of humor is all that gets you through them. These experiences have also made you an
ardent pacifist, though you present your message with tongue sewn into cheek. You
could coin a phrase that replaces the word "paradox" for millions of
people.

Take the Book Quiz
at the Blue Pyramid.

What is incredible about this quiz is that I wrote an English research paper my junior year in high school about Joseph Heller. I found Catch-22 to be one of the most compelling books I've ever read. It appears that the existentialism of Catch-22 represents much of my life. Caught in a trap, I can't get out (sounds like a song...)

Ok so it has been awhile... again...

Life just catches up with me and I don't find time to blog.

I could talk about the usual topics: politics (Bush still in office, still in a senseless war, nothing has changed); family (they're all still here and still crazy as hell); my thoughts (still scattered as usual); my husband (still stubborn and stressed); work (becoming more and more burnt out)

So what's left?

We survived the birthday party, barely! I put pictures of the boys eating their birthday cakes on their website.

Are they considered toddlers now that they are 1 yr. old? or is it not offical until they actually walk? I guess I am just wanting them to stay little. :(

The best present we got was a Radio Flyer wagon from my mom and dad. They still have our old metal Radio Flyer. These days, they make a plastic one with seats that fold up and cup holders. It is much lighter than the stupid double stroller. If I can't think of a reason to keep the stroller, we may have to sell it.

We are transitioning from bottles to cups and also trying to throw the passy away. They did pretty good tonight considering we took the last bottle away and tried to get them to sleep in the cribs without rocking. They won out on the rocking thing, but they didn't take a bottle! Yay! They are also on whole milk now and seemed to do ok with that transition. They are growing up!

I love it when 40-something people addicted to drugs chastise me for "not doing my job" and accuse me of "scolding" them first thing in the morning. Sheesh.

I wish psychiatrists would quit pushing benzos. Tell me how it helps an anxious person to get them physically and psychologically addicted to a substance.

Today, I am fed up with drugs. There has to be a better way to teach people how to cope with life. There has to be better treatment options available.

Oh I have not posted in so long!

Update: Thursday was our 4 year wedding anniversary. I was SUPPOSED to be surprised by a trip to the spa. However, my big mouth mother in law said to me one day last week
Her:"oh i hear you are going for a day of beauty next week"
Me: "Uh, I don't know anything about that..."
Her: "Oh dadblameit! I can't believe my big mouth"
Me: ....

She begged me to not tell my husband. Good thing he doesn't read this blog.

So i did get a trip to the spa. It was fun, relaxing and exhausting. Being sleep deprived, getting massages, etc, does not help you stay awake!

Then we went out to eat at The Orangery. Fancy French food East Tennessee style. I guess the "upper crust" of East Tennessee aren't being good Christian Republicans and boycotting France. That place was busy. The food was great. With Cory's obsession with restaurants, we have eaten at so many nice places, I just don't see the hype with the Orangery. I guess we just ain't used to culture 'round these parts.

I bought Cory a new grill.

We are now planning for the boys' birthday party. it better not rain because we are having a cookout with friends and family. One friend will be out of town on Tuesday, so she came by tonight with her gifts. Aidan and Cole liked the paper wrapping better than the gift (of course).

I will be a better blogger

Tomorrow I start my new schedule at Mobile Crisis. I will be working the same days (F,S,S,M) but instead of working 1p-11p or 12p-10p, I will be working 7a-5p every day. Yay, more time in the evenings with my family, I can help Cory get the boys to sleep (since he has often called me begging for help when I am in the middle of work), I can spend time with him when the boys go to sleep, I can participate in family meals that may happen on the weekend evenings, etc. The only drawback is that i won't have sunday mornings off to go to church. And we just found a new church that we really like (they play rock music in worship, pretty contemporarary, and they have a great children's program). I am hoping that I will get moved to a day schedule by the fall once some new people are hired. We are trying to get the boys in daycare. it will be over $200/week. That's more than our mortgage is per month. We won't be able to do it unless Cory starts selling some houses.

I visited Cathy, Doug, Tommy, Sarah, Noah, Amy and Evan yesterday. The boys had fun playing with the children and Molly, the dog. I got to see a brand new baby and remember when my boys were that small(er). It doesn't seem like it has been almost a year since they were born. We will be having a party in just under 2 weeks. I hope I don't go crazy trying to plan this thing! I am excited to give them a party because i have great memories of my birthday parties.
